Czech-Korean Nuclear Collaboration Center

About Us

The Czech-Korean Nuclear Collaboration Center (NCC) is a support and coordination hub established to strenghten academic and institutional collaboration.

By enhancing education at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering at CTU and at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication at BUT, the NCC plays an active role in preparing globally connected professionals in nuclear science for the future. It promotes study and research opportunities in Korea, assists Czech students preparing for academic exchange, and provides professional support for visiting Korean scientists and experts.

Through academic events, lectures, and long-term teaching programs, the centre fosters meaningful bilateral initiatives and contributes to the integration of Korean expertise into domestic nuclear education.

Find Out More About Our Alumni!

Our alumnus, Jan Hruškovič, originally from Náměšť nad Oslavou, now residing in Suwon, South Korea, shared his thoughts, feelings and experinces from his time at KINGS.

After graduating at the Brno University of Technology, he continued his master's studies at KINGS where he spent 2 years of his life. During his studies he received the KNS (Korea Nuclear Society) scholarship, became a president of student union, underwent an internship at FNC Technology (where he currently works), met the ambassador and during his graduation the president of the university presented him with an award both for his academic results and for his activity and leadership.

“So far, only three Czech students graduated.  Me, Dalibor Kojecký, who is now working at ENERGOPROJEKT Praha, and recently also Marek Kopeček, who just started working in FNC Technology, together with me in Korea.”

KINGS Visit to BUT, February 2026

Every great year starts with a successful business trip. And we started the year 2026 in the best way possible!

On February 10th representatives from KINGS visited Brno University of Technology to meet with students and deliver an engaging presentation. The session introduced students to KINGS, our mission, and the opportunities we offer, including guidance on how to enter.

Students could be excited to learn about what studying at KINGS can bring - practical classes, internship in leading companies, cultural trips and, last but not least, a single dormitory room with an ocean view!

The session also featured encouraging messages from our alumni, some of whom previously studied at BUT before building successful careers in well-established companies.

We hope that many students found the presentation inspiring, and we look forward to welcoming many of these students in the next academic year.

Another exciting event was the meeting with the new Dean, Professor Koton, with whom we discussed the future of NCC and other exciting collaborations and oficially opened the BUT NCC office! A big thank you goes to Professor Karel Katovský and Ing. Peter Mičian, who were also part of the meeting and helped organize everything.

The Mission of NCC

The Department of NPP Engineering offers a comprehensive graduate-level program that encompasses all aspects of a nuclear power plant project, starting from the design and construction phase, and continuing through the operation, management, and ultimately the decommissioning phase. The program provides students with both theoretical and practical training, equipping them with the necessary skills to lead nuclear power plant projects in their respective countries.
