SMR Camp 2026

Our administrator visited the two-day public lectures offered by this year's SMR Camp for students with an interest in nuclear. Attending the SMR Camp 2026, organized by ČEZ, a.s. and the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, CTU in Prague, was such an amazing opportunity to learn more and meet all the experts and young enthusiasts in the field.

NERS Conference, June 2026

This year again, the Czech NCC team attended the 18th Annual NERS Conference in Prague. We were beyond excited to hear so many interesting presentations concerning the topic "On the Way to Success of the Czech Nuclear Program".

BUT Student Event, February 2026

On the 10th February representatives from KINGS visited BUT to meet with students and deliver an engaging presentation. The session introduced students to KINGS, our mission, and the opportunities we offer, including guidance on how to enter.
We hope that many students found the presentation inspiring, and we look forward to welcoming many of these students in the next academic year.

Soo-Jin Park - NPP Financing (BUT)

In April 2025, Professor Soo-Jin Park delivered a series of finance lectures as the first official class of the Czech Nuclear Cooperation Center (NCC).
The lectures focused on the financing aspects of NPP and on the Economic Impact Analysis & Energy Planning.

Keung-Koo Kim - APR1000 and APR1400 (BUT)

The course broke down into five lectures, each focused on the Korean reactors APR1000 and APR1400. The course offered introduction to the Korean APRs, their fuel and core design, reactor coolant systems and cvcs and their safety systems.

Ki-Sig Kang - From Reactor Design to SMRs (BUT)

The last set of special lectures for this semester was delivered by Professor Ki-Sig Kang at the CTU in May. The professor's four lectures provided complex information around the Dukovany project. This includes a special colloquium available also online.

Keung-Koo Kim - SMR Technology (BUT)

Next lectures were delivered by Distinguished Professor Keung-Koo Kim.
This time the lectures were focused on SMR (its introduciton and global development, including the development in Korea.

Ki-Sig Kang - From Reactor Design to SMRs (BUT)

In April 2026, Professor Ki-Sig Kang delivered his first special lecture course at Brno University of Technology. The course focused on various topics such as Global NPP Market Review and Analysis or Main Design Features of NSSS Systems.

Han-Young Yoon - Advanced Thermohydraulics (CTU)

The course focused on advanced thermohydraulic analysis of nuclear reactors and provided a basic introduction to the CUPID code, which is used for 3D simulations of the APR1000 and APR1400 reactors.

Keung-Koo Kim - APR1000 (CTU)

This time, Professor Keung-Koo Kim arrived at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering CTU in Prague, delivering a set of special lectures titled Special Lectures on Systems, Structures, and Components (SSC) of APR1000

NCC Opening Event, September 2025

... “Nuclear research and education in Korea are at a top level, so the transfer of knowledge from our Korean partners is enormously valuable for us. By opening the center we will help not only in sharing information, but also in the exchange of students and staff,” adds Dr. Jan Rataj, Head of the Department of Nuclear Reactors at FNSPE CTU.

Nuclear Days Conference, September 2025

KINGS has presented a promotional kiosk where visitors could find out more about the university and its programs. Students could also get more information about this year's admission guidelines and student life, not only from the representatives from KINGS, but also from one of the university’s successful absolvents, Jan Hruškovič who had been a part of the neighboring kiosk by FNC Technologies Pvt., Ltd.

NERS Conference, June 2025

On June 19th, Professor Juyoul Kim from KEPCO INTERNATIONAL NUCLEAR GRADUATE SCHOOL delivered a presentation at the 17th Annual NERS Conference in Prague. In his presentation, titled "Building Bridges of Nuclear Human Resource Development for a 100-Year Partnership", Professor Kim introduced KINGS and its key programs (including the Nuclear Collaboration Centre (NCC), which also aims to support European students in pursuing careers in the nuclear industry.
