18th Annual NERS Conference in Prague
This year again, the Czech NCC team attended the 18th Annual NERS Conference in Prague. We were beyond excited to hear so many interesting presentations concerning the topic "On the Way to Success of the Czech Nuclear Program".
Among this year’s speakers were, for example, Karel Havlíček, Petr Zavodsky from Elektrárna Dukovany II, Youngjin Kwag from the KHNP Czech, or Andrej Žiarovský from VUJE, a.s.
The meaning of strong, independent, and professional oversight for the safe development of new nuclear sources was emphasized by Státní úřad pro jadernou bezpečnost (SÚJB). ÚJV Řež, a. s. representative Radek Trtilek then presented his view on the question: "Are there reasons for radioactive waste to be a limiting factor in the development of nuclear energy?"
The day ended with a panel discussion and networking opportunities.
